  • 1/2 kg - small tender Bitter gourd
  • 2 - Onions chopped
  • 1 tsp - Garlic paste
  • 1 tsp - Ginger paste
  • 1 tsp - cumin powder
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 3 tbsp - oil
  • salt to taste
  • How to Make Sizzling Stuffed Bitter Gourd:

    1. Scrape the bitter gourds with a knife and wash well.
    2. Slit each bitter gourd vertically into the middle.
    3. Rub a little salt into the skins as well as inside of each bitter gourd.
    4. Set aside for 20 mins then wash and pat dry.
    5. Meanwhile heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and saute the onions till brown.
    6. Add the garlic-ginger paste and fry for a while.
    7. Now, add the cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt and fry for a few minutes.
    8. Remove from heat. Fill each bitter gourd with a little of this mixture.
    9. Wrap each with a thread to avoid the filling dropping out.
    10. Now, add a little more oil to the same pan and place the stuffed bitter gourds in it.
    11. Add 1/2 cup of water carefully.
    12. Cover the pan and cook on low heat till the bitter gourds are cooked and the water dries up taking care to turn the bitter gourds a few times.
