How to Make Sizzling Stuffed Bitter Gourd

  • Scrape the bitter gourds with a knife and wash well.
  • Slit each bitter gourd vertically into the middle.
  • Rub a little salt into the skins as well as inside of each bitter gourd.
  • Set aside for 20 mins then wash and pat dry.
  • Meanwhile heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and saute the onions till brown.
  • Add the garlic-ginger paste and fry for a while.
  • Now, add the cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt and fry for a few minutes.
  • Remove from heat. Fill each bitter gourd with a little of this mixture.
  • Wrap each with a thread to avoid the filling dropping out.
  • Now, add a little more oil to the same pan and place the stuffed bitter gourds in it.
  • Add 1/2 cup of water carefully.
  • Cover the pan and cook on low heat till the bitter gourds are cooked and the water dries up taking care to turn the bitter gourds a few times.
