  • 4 cups - bisques pan cake mix
  • 2 cups - Milk (or Butter milk )
  • 4 - Tomatoes
  • 4 - Onions (medium size )
  • 3 - Green chillies
  • 1 bunch - coriander
  • 1 small cup - oil
  • 1/4 tbsp - salt
  • 1/8 tsp - chilli powder
  • How to Make South Indian Oothappam:

    1. First cut tomatoes, onions and green chillies into very small pieces. Chop the coriander leaves also.
    2. Mix milk with pancake mix and make a paste.
    3. Add salt and chilli powder to the mix.
    4. Add tomatoes, onions, green chillies and coriander leaves to the pancake mix, and mix well.
    5. Heat a thick non-stick pan and spread the pancake mix on the pan.
    6. Add oil around the corners of the pancake. Once it is heated for 2 mins, flip the pancake and heat it for two more mins.
    7. Remove from the pan and serve. Instead of milk, you can add buttermilk to get a different taste.
