Ingredients

  • Button mushrooms - 200 g, sliced
  • Green peas - 1 cup, cooked
  • Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
  • green chillies - 2 to 3, chopped
  • Garlic - 6 flakes
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Onion - 1 cup, sliced
  • A few curry leaves
  • Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste

How to Make South Indian Peas Mushroom Chilli Fry

  • Grind coconut with garlic and green chillies into a paste.
  • Heat oil in a kadai. Add onion and fry till brown.
  • Add coconut paste and fry till fragrant.
  • Add curry leaves and all the masalas.
  • Add mushroom and salt.
  • Cook on low flame till mushrooms are cooked.
  • Add green peas and cook stirring till all the water from the mushrooms is absorbed.
  • Serve with steamed rice and dal.
