Ingredients

  • Soya granules - 1 cup
  • palak (spinach) - 1 bunch
  • tomatoes - 2
  • ginger - 2tsp (minced)
  • Madras curry powder (hot) - 1 tsp
  • fennel seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • fresh cream - 2 tbsp
  • oil - 2 tbsp
  • Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
  • Green chillies - 1 tsp (minced)
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Soya Palak

  • Cook soya granules in hot water for 10 minutes. Cover.
  • When cool, squeeze out water. Set aside.
  • Chop palak (spinach) roughly after washing the leaves well.
  • Heat oil in a pan. When hot, add the fennel seeds, minced green chillies and minced ginger. Saute.
  • Add the Madras curry powder, 1 tbsp fresh cream. Continue stirring.
  • Add chopped tomatoes. Sprinkle a little water and cook till tomatoes are soft.
  • Add the soya granules. Stir.
  • Add salt. Cover. After 5 minutes, add the chopped palak. Stir well.
  • Sprinkle garam masala and add the balance cream. Stir well and serve hot with rotis or bread.
