Ingredients

  • 4-5 - tomatoes, medium size (blend into a puree)
  • 3/4 tsp - cumin seeds (Jeera)
  • 1/2 tsp - hing
  • 2-3 - green chilly, small, chopped
  • 7-8 - curry leaves
  • 1 tsp - red chilly powder
  • 1/4 tsp - turmeric
  • 2-3 tsp - gram flour,
  • Oil to fry
  • salt as desired (for taste)

How to Make Special Tomato Soup

  • Heat oil in a shallow utensil.
  • When oil gets heated, add gram flour and fry in oil till it turns pink.
  • Then add cumin seeds.
  • When they begin to pop, add curry leaves, green chillies and fry a little.
  • When the green chillies are properly cooked, add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and tomato puree.
  • As soon as you add this, the mixture will begin to splutter. Cover it and let it cook on medium flame for 2-4 mins.
  • Add desired amount of water and salt. Boil.
  • Turn off the stove, garnish with coriander leaves (optional).
  • Serve delicious tomato soup with white rice.
