Ingredients

  • 8 - bread slices
  • 100 g - carrots (chopped finely)
  • 100 g - French beans (chopped finely)
  • 75 g - potatoes
  • 1 - capsicum (chopped finely)
  • 2 - spring onions (chopped fine)
  • 1/2 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - soya sauce
  • 1/2 tsp - ajinomoto
  • 1/2 cup - flour
  • 2 tbsp - sesame seeds
  • 1.5 tbsp - oil
  • Pepper to taste
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Special Vegetable Gold Coins

  • Boil and mash potatoes.
  • Heat oil, add the chopped vegetables and ajinomoto.
  • Saute for 5 mins.
  • Add potatoes, soya sauce, chilli powder and salt.
  • Mix well and cook for another 5 mins.
  • With a cutter, cut out small rounds of the bread slices.
  • Put a little cooked vegetable mixture over each bread round and press in place.
  • Add 1/2 cup water to the flour and make a smooth paste.
  • Apply a little paste over the potato mixture, taking care to apply the paste on the edges of the potato dome, to join the potatoes with the bread.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and press gently.
  • Deep-fry in hot oil.
  • Turn sides quickly as bread turns brown very fast.
  • Serve hot with chilli-garlic sauce.
