Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup - onion, chopped
  • 1 tbsp - garlic, chopped
  • 1 tbsp - ginger, chopped
  • 400 g - paneer
  • 1/2 cup - onion, sliced thinly
  • 1 tsp - Cumins powder
  • Chilli powder to taste
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1 tsp - garam masala
  • 1 cup - curd
  • salt to taste
  • 3 - cardamom
  • 3 - cloves
  • 4 cm piece of cinnamon
  • 4 - green chillies, slit
  • Coriander leaves to garnish
  • Oil to deep fry

How to Make Spicy Paneer Masala

  • Grind chopped onion, garlic and ginger together to a paste.
  • Cut Paneer into 2 cm cubes.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Fry sliced onions till golden brown.
  • Drain on kitchen paper.
  • Deep fry paneer cubes till brown. Drain the paneer from the oil and reserve.
  • Mix salt, cumin, chilli, coriander powder and garam masala with curd.
  • Heat the oil in which paneer was fried. Roast cardamom, cloves and cinnamon.
  • Add green chillies and the ground paste and fry till fragrant.
  • Add the curd mixture. Cook stirring for 2-3 mins.
  • Add paneer pieces and cook till the gravy dries up to coat the pieces.
  • Garnish with fried onion slices and chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with chapattis.
