  • 1 - large ridge gourd
  • 2 - onions (cut into small pieces)
  • 1 - stalk curry leaves
  • 4 - green chillies
  • 2 - 3 - small strips of tamarind
  • salt
  • For seasoning :
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • 1 pinch -mustard
  • 1 pinch - jeera
  • 1 pinch -urad dal
  • 1 pinch - hing

How to Make Spicy Ridge Gourd Chutney

  • Cut gourd into small pieces.
  • Heat 1tsp of oil in a pan, add green chillies . After a minute add the gourd pieces and tamarind strips and allow it to cook for 10 minutes.
  • As fresh veggies have water inside it cooks well.
  • Now add salt and remove from flame
  • Allow it to cool. Grind all these to a rough mixture.
  • In a pan heat 1tbsp of oil and add all the seasoning along with curry leaves.
  • Now add onions cut into small pieces and allow them to cook for a couple of minutes.
  • Now add the ground mixture and mix well, leave this on flame for 5 minutes.
  • It is ready to serve hot with rice or roti.
