How to Make Sprouted Methi Seed Thoran

  • Wash and soak methi seeds in 2 cups of water for 6 hours or overnight.
  • Drain out the water thoroughly and pack it loosely in a clean cloth.
  • Set it aside in a bowl for 2 days to allow the methi to sprout or germinate.
  • Sprinkle water occasionally. Ensure the pack is not immersed in water.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds to it.
  • When they crackle, add jeera and urad dal to it. Fry it for 1 minute.
  • Add sprouted methi seeds, coconut mixture, salt and sprinkle 2 tbsp of water on it.
  • Mix all the ingredients well.
  • Cover it with a tight lid and cook on low to medium heat for 15 minutes or until it is done.
  • Serve it as a side dish with rice.
