Ingredients

  • 3 - eggs, separated
  • 4 tbsps - mixed chopped nuts
  • 1/4 cup - each of Refined flour and Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp - baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp - essence of vanilla
  • How to Make Steamed Cakes:

    1. Beat the yolks till thick. Add sugar and continue beating till light and foamy.
    2. Beat the whites till stiff and mix into the yolks nicely.
    3. Sift the flour and baking powder thrice. Mix into the eggs. Mix in essence and nuts.
    4. Grease 12 custard cups with butter.
    5. Fill each cup about half full with batter.
    6. If you like, you can garnish the top with few nuts.
    7. Place the containers using either pan cover or foil.
    8. Bake in a pre-heated mode oven for 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean. Serve hot.
