Ingredients

  • 1 bowl - idle batter
  • Water - a little to dilute
  • For stuffing:
  • 2 - Carrots
  • 6 - beans
  • 1 - Potato
  • 1/4 cup - Green peas
  • 1 - big Onion
  • 1 tbsp - cooking oil
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp - red chilly powder
  • 1/4 tsp - Garam Masala
  • To grind:
  • 1 inch piece - Cinnamon
  • 1 - Cloves
  • Fennel seeds - a little
  • 1 tbsp - grated Coconut
  • 1 tsp - fried gram dal
  • Ginger - a small piece
  • 6 Cloves - Garlic
  • To garnish:
  • Coriander leaves - a few
  • Lime juice - 1tbsp.
  • How to Make Stuffed vegetable idle:

    1. Heat a kadai with a tbsp of oil and add the onion pieces. Saute till it turns transparent.
    2. Now add the ground masala paste. Saute till the raw smell disappears.
    3. Then add the cooked vegetables and the powders. Mix well for few mins.
    4. Add the required water and boil well till the stuffing thickens.
    5. Finally, add the lime juice and garnish with coriander leaves.
    6. In an idle pot, pour a tbsp of batter and keep a tsp of filling in the centre.
    7. Then pour another tbsp of batter to cover the filling.
    8. Steam for 15 mins and serve with chutney.
