Ingredients

  • 1 - raw, unripe Mango
  • 1 cup - rice, uncooked
  • salt to taste
  • To temper: 1/2 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - Jeera
  • 1 tsp - Urad Dal
  • pinch of Hing
  • few Curry leaves
  • 1 - Green chilli
  • 1-2 - Red Chillies
  • 2 tsp - Peanuts
  • How to Make Tangy Mango Rice:

    1. Grate the mango after peeling the skin.
    2. Cook the rice and let it cool.
    3. Heat oil in a pan and temper with the ingredients listed for the purpose.
    4. Add the grated mango.
    5. Fry the mixture for a minute or two.
    6. Add salt and the mango mixture to the rice. Stir well.
    7. Serve with pappad.
