  • 1/4 cup - Rice flour
  • 1/4 cup - Wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp - semolina (sujji)
  • 1 tbsp - moong dal or Urad Dal (soaked)
  • 2 tbsp - spinach, chopped
  • 1 tbsp - Paneer (cottage cheese)
  • 1 flake - Garlic
  • 2 - spring onions, stems finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Water for making dough
  • Oil for shallow frying
  • How to Make Tangy Parathas:

    1. Soak the dal for 2-3 hours and then grind it into a paste and keep aside.
    2. Grind the spinach, garlic and onion to a paste, adding chillies if desired.
    3. Mix the pastes and all the rest of the ingredients except oil and make a dough.
    4. Let this dough rest for 15-20 mins and now take a small portion and roll it.
    5. Heat the griddle on high flame.
    6. Brush a little oil on the rolled paratha and close it from all the sides and again roll it till the size of a small plate.
    7. When the griddle is hot put the paratha on it and shallow-fry till both the sides are golden in colour.
    8. Serve hot with ketchup, chutney or jam.
