Ingredients

  • For the Outer Covering:
  • Rice Flour - 1 cup
  • Water - 1 cup
  • Oil/Ghee - 1 tbsp
  • Salt - pinch
  • For The Filling:
  • Fresh Coconut - 2 cups
  • Jaggery - 1 cup
  • Cinnamon for flavouring
  • How to Make Tangy Ukadiche Modak:

    1. Mix all the outer covering ingredients very well and microwave it for 2 mins on high.
    2. Remove and mix in the food processor till it forms a ball.
    3. Mix all the filling ingredients and keep in the microwave for 2 mins on high.
    4. If some water remains, keep for another minute.
    5. Make modak-shaped pouches with the dough, stuff with the filling and steam till done.
