Ingredients

  • 800 g - Pomfret
  • 15 g - Garlic
  • 4 - Red Chilli
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seed
  • 1 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 150 g - Potato
  • 100 g - oil
  • How to Make Tarela Machhi:

    1. Cut fins, slit flesh and wash well.
    2. Grind all the masala with about 20 g oil.
    3. Add salt to the fish and drain the moisture. Apply the masala and refrigerate for 1 hour.
    4. Heat oil in a frying pan till smoke appears and fry the fish. Turn over gently and fry the other side. Do not handle the fish or the skin will come off.
    5. Cut potatoes into 1.5 inch x 1/2 cm. x 1/2 cm. strips.
    6. Fry the potatoes in oil.
    7. Serve fish with potato straws.
