Ingredients

  • 1 kg - Chicken
  • 2 tbsp - Curd
  • 1 tsp - ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • For the gravy:
  • 2 - onions, sliced
  • 2 - tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 - green chillies, chopped
  • 1 tsp - ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp - whole Garam Masala (clove, cinnamon, elaichi, poppy seeds, bay leaves)
  • 1.5 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1 tsp - Garam Masala powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - Fenugreek seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin powder
  • 1 tsp - coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp - Lime juice
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Tasty Chicken Curry:

    1. Clean the chicken and marinate with curd, turmeric powder, ginger -garlic paste and salt.
    2. Keep it aside for 1 hour.
    3. Heat oil in a pressure cooker, saute cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, whole garam masala.
    4. Once done, add ginger garlic paste and chillies.
    5. Saute for 1 minute or so then add the onions and fry them until it turns golden brown.
    6. Once the onions turn brown, add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala and cumin powder.
    7. Saute till the oil separates from the masala.
    8. Then add the tomatoes and mix all together and let it cook.
    9. Once a thick gravy is formed, add the chicken and mix all together.
    10. Season it with salt and check the spiciness.
    11. Then add 1 glass of water to the chicken. |Mix it well.
    12. Close the lid and allow it to cook and once the steam comes, put the whistle and let 2 whistles come and then low the gas flame for about 5-6 minutes.
    13. Then switch it off. Just before serving, open the lid.
    14. Garnish with coriander leaves and lemon juice.
    15. Serve hot with chapathis, rotis etc.
