Ingredients

  • 1 kg - Chicken
  • 2 tbsp - Curd
  • 1 tsp - ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • For the gravy:
  • 2 - onions, sliced
  • 2 - tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 - green chillies, chopped
  • 1 tsp - ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp - whole Garam Masala (clove, cinnamon, elaichi, poppy seeds, bay leaves)
  • 1.5 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1 tsp - Garam Masala powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - Fenugreek seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin powder
  • 1 tsp - coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp - Lime juice
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Tasty Chicken Curry

  • Clean the chicken and marinate with curd, turmeric powder, ginger -garlic paste and salt.
  • Keep it aside for 1 hour.
  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker, saute cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, whole garam masala.
  • Once done, add ginger garlic paste and chillies.
  • Saute for 1 minute or so then add the onions and fry them until it turns golden brown.
  • Once the onions turn brown, add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala and cumin powder.
  • Saute till the oil separates from the masala.
  • Then add the tomatoes and mix all together and let it cook.
  • Once a thick gravy is formed, add the chicken and mix all together.
  • Season it with salt and check the spiciness.
  • Then add 1 glass of water to the chicken. |Mix it well.
  • Close the lid and allow it to cook and once the steam comes, put the whistle and let 2 whistles come and then low the gas flame for about 5-6 minutes.
  • Then switch it off. Just before serving, open the lid.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and lemon juice.
  • Serve hot with chapathis, rotis etc.
