Ingredients

  • 100 g - chick pea
  • 1 - Onion (big)
  • 1 - Tomato (big)
  • 1 cup - grated Coconut
  • 1 tsp - Coriander seeds
  • 3 - Red Chillies
  • 1 - Cinnamon stick
  • 2 - Cloves
  • 1/4 tsp - Fennel seeds
  • 2 - Curry leaves
  • Coriander leaves - for garnish
  • 2 tsp - oil
  • How to Make Tasty Kadalai Curry:

    1. Soak the chick pea in water for about 8 hours and cook in a pressure cooker for up to 3 whistles.
    2. Roast coriander seeds, red chillies, cinnamon, clove and fennel without oil in a heavy pan.
    3. Finally, add the grated coconut and roast.
    4. Allow to cool and grind with water to a fine paste.
    5. Cut the onion and tomato and blend to a paste.
    6. In a pressure cooker, add 2 tsps of oil, curry leaves and onion-tomato paste and saute for 2-3 mins.
    7. Add the cooked chick pea and ground paste and salt and stir.
    8. Cook for 1 whistle.
    9. Garnish with fresh coriander.
