How to Make Tasty Kadalai Curry

  • Soak the chick pea in water for about 8 hours and cook in a pressure cooker for up to 3 whistles.
  • Roast coriander seeds, red chillies, cinnamon, clove and fennel without oil in a heavy pan.
  • Finally, add the grated coconut and roast.
  • Allow to cool and grind with water to a fine paste.
  • Cut the onion and tomato and blend to a paste.
  • In a pressure cooker, add 2 tsps of oil, curry leaves and onion-tomato paste and saute for 2-3 mins.
  • Add the cooked chick pea and ground paste and salt and stir.
  • Cook for 1 whistle.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander.
