Ingredients

  • For dough:
  • Maida - 1 cup
  • Rice flour - 3 tbsp
  • Ghee - 1 tbsp
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Milk to mix
  • For filling:
  • Desiccated Coconut - 1 cup
  • Powdered Sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Cashew nuts - 2 tbsp, chopped fine
  • Poppy Seeds - 2 tbsp, roasted
  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  • A little Milk
  • Oil or Ghee to deep fry
  • How to Make Tasty Kadubu:

    1. Combine all the dry ingredients together.
    2. Add enough milk to make a stiff but pliable dough.
    3. Keep covered.
    4. Combine all the dry ingredients together.
    5. Sprinkle some milk to bind them.
    6. Divide the dough into small balls.
    7. Divide the filling into portions.
    8. Roll out a ball of dough into a thin poori.
    9. Place a portion of filling on one half of the poori, fold the other half to cover the filling.
    10. Press the edges together to seal well.
    11. Repeat with the rest of the dough.
    12. Deep fry 4-5 kadabus in moderately hot oil or ghee till crisp.
    13. Drain on kitchen paper.
    14. Cool and store in airtight container.
    15. Keep well for 3-4 days.
