Ingredients

  • Rice - 5 cups
  • Gram Dal-2 cups
  • Moong Dal-1 cup
  • Ghee - 3/4 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to deep fry
  • How to Make Thenguzhal:

    1. Roast rice, gram dal and moong dal for a while in a dry pan and grind them to powder. Take 2/3 of the ground powder, add salt according to your taste and a little ghee.
    2. Add some water and make it into a dough.
    3. Heat oil in a pan, put the dough in the murukku maker (with the thenguzhal plate in it) and squeeze it into the oil.
    4. Deep fry to get the thenguzhal in golden colour.
    5. You can mix the rice-dal powder to salt and water little by little so that the dough will be fresh and the thenguzhal will turn out golden colour every time.
