  • Tomatoes - 3
  • Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida - 1 pinch
  • Garlic - 5
  • Curry leaves - 2 stalks
  • Tamarind - marble sized
  • Salt - to taste
  • Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Oil - 4 tsp
  • How to Make Tomato Chutney (Sauteed):

    1. Heat oil, add asafoetida, then add chopped tomatoes and saute till it comes to a pulp consistency. Allow to cool a bit.
    2. Add the chilli powder, garlic, tamarind, a stalk curry leaves and salt and grind to a smooth paste.
    3. Heat oil, add mustard and allow to splutter. Then add the remaining curry leaves and the ground paste.
    4. Mix well and cook till oil starts leaving the mixture.
    5. Store when cool.
