Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 - ripe big tomatoes, cut horizontally (whole)
  • 1 cup - finely chopped Onion
  • 2 - finely chopped Green chillies
  • 1 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1 cup - grated Carrots
  • 1/2 cup - finely grated Mango (optional)
  • 1 cup - sev
  • 1 cup - puffed Rice
  • 1/2 cup - chopped coriander
  • 1 to 2 tsp - Lemon juice/tamarind juice
  • Salt and Sugar as per taste
  • Oil

How to Make Tomato Tikki

  • Lay out the cut tomatoes on a plate.
  • On this, spread the finely chopped onions, green chillies, grated carrots, mango, lemon or tamarind juice.
  • On this, sprinkle puffed rice and chopped coriander.
  • To this, add lemon juice or tamarind juice or you can make meeta.
  • Over this, sprinkle salt and chilli powder as per taste.
  • Sprinkle sev and puffed rice garnish with coriander.
  • To make it meeta:
  • Soak dates, a small size ball of tamarind, 1 lump of jaggery and grind it to a paste.
  • To make green chutney:
  • Grind 2 green chillies, few mint leaves, few coriander leaves.
  • Serve immediately.
