How to Make Traditional Paal Payasam

  • Grind rice and fry it in a tsp of ghee till it is hot.
  • Similarly, fry the cashew and raisins in the ghee. Keep aside.
  • Take the milk, add the powdered rice and steam in a cooker. Wait for 4 or 5 whistles and keep it on low heat for 30 mins.
  • The longer you keep, the milk colour will change into a light orange, which is good.
  • Add sugar and wait till it dissolves completely. Let it boil for some more time. Finally, add the cashews and raisins.
