Ingredients

  • 1.5 cup - Rice
  • 3 cups - water
  • 4 - Brinjals
  • 2 - Green chillies
  • 1 - Onion
  • 1 tsp - cumin
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp - Garam Masala
  • 1/2 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup - oil.
  • How to Make Traditional Vangibath:

    1. Cut brinjals into four pieces and put in salt water.
    2. Wash rice and soak.
    3. Heat oil in pressure pan.
    4. Add cumin, onions, saute and add brinjals, salt, turmeric powder, green chillies.
    5. Fry till brinjals become a bit soft.
    6. Add garam masala, chilli powder.
    7. Add rice and fry for further 2 mins.
    8. Add 3 cups of water and close lid. After two whistles put off the flame.
    9. Serve.
