  • 3 cups - Toor Dal
  • 5 Green chillies
  • 5 Red Chillies
  • A small bunch - Coriander leaves
  • 1/2 cup - dried Coconut
  • A pinch - Hing
  • Salt to taste
  • A small bunch - dill (optional)
  • How to Make Tuvar dal Nuchinunde:

    1. Soak toor dal in water for an hour. Strain the water completely and grind coarsely without adding water.
    2. Also add green and red chillies, dried coconut powder, salt and hing while grinding.
    3. Cut coriander leaves and dill finely and add to the above mixture.
    4. Make small balls and steam in cooker like idlis.
    5. Serve hot with coconut chutney and ghee.
