Ingredients

  • 3 cups - toor dal
  • 5 green chillies
  • 5 red chillies
  • A small bunch - coriander leaves
  • 1/2 cup - dried coconut
  • A pinch - hing
  • Salt to taste
  • A small bunch - dill (optional)

How to Make Tuvar dal Nuchinunde

  • Soak toor dal in water for an hour. Strain the water completely and grind coarsely without adding water.
  • Also add green and red chillies, dried coconut powder, salt and hing while grinding.
  • Cut coriander leaves and dill finely and add to the above mixture.
  • Make small balls and steam in cooker like idlis.
  • Serve hot with coconut chutney and ghee.
