Ingredients

For the kozhukattai:

1 cup - Rice flour

1 tsp - salt

1 tbsp - oil

For the vegetable stuffing:

1 cup - grated Carrot

1 cup - grated Cabbage

1 cup - finely chopped beans

1 cup - finely chopped Potato

1 tbsp - finely chopped coriander

1 tbsp - finely chopped Curry leaves

1 cup - boiled peas

1 tsp - chilli powder

1 tsp - Turmeric powder

1 tsp - cumin powder

A pinch of Asafoetida

Salt to taste

1 tbsp - Ghee

Method

  1. Heat ghee in a kadai and saute the vegetables.
  2. Add all the masala powders. Cook on a low fire for 3-4 mins and then take off the flame to cool a little.
  3. For the kozhukattai, heat 1 cup of water in a kadai.
  4. Add a little salt to the water. When it boils, add rice flour and stir well.
  5. Once the flour thickens, remove from fire and set aside.
  6. Mix the dough well with a little oil and make small balls out of the mixture.
  7. Flatten the balls and then press with your thumb to get a cup shape for the kozhukattai.
  8. Fill in the vegetable stuffing, cover well and then steam the kozhukattai.
