Ingredients

  • 1/2 - Bread fruit
  • 1 piece - Ripe Pumpkin
  • 1/4 cup - White peas
  • 1 - Raw Plantain
  • 5 - Long runner beans
  • 1 tsp - Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For Masala:
  • 2 - Green chillies
  • 1/2 a Coconut - grated
  • A few Curry leaves
  • How to Make Vishu Puzhuku:

    1. Cook peas and keep aside.
    2. Slice all the vegetables into medium pieces.
    3. Coarsely grind the ingredients for the masala and keep aside.
    4. Cook bread fruit and plantain with sufficient water.
    5. When it is half done, add pumpkin, runner beans and salt.
    6. When it is done, add cooked peas, chilli powder, turmeric powder, ground masala and mix well.
    7. Before removing from fire, mix well by adding little coconut oil and a few curry leaves.
