Ingredients

  • 2 - Coconuts, fresh, extract thick and thin juice
  • 1 kg - Dal, moong
  • 600 gms - Jaggery
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup - Flour, Rice Raw Rice flour
  • 1 pinch - Cardamom Powder

How to Make Vorn

  • Scrape the coconuts and grind them, and extract the thick and thin juice.
  • Now boil the dal it until it softens and then add the jaggery, the thin coconut juice and salt to it.
  • Meanwhile, mix the rice flour with sufficient water into a batter.
  • Add this to the batter, stir well so that lumps are not formed.
  • Boil this until the flour is cooked and has the required consistency.
  • Now add the thick juice and cardamom powder and boil for 10 minutes.
  • Let it cool.
