  • 750 gms - medium sized Potatoes
  • 10 to 12 fresh pavs
  • 1 big Onion
  • 2 to 3 Green chillies
  • 2 tbsp - Coriander leaves
  • 1€ piece Ginger
  • 8 flakes Garlic
  • 2 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • ¼ tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 small bowl green chutney
  • 1 Lemon (juice)
  • oil for deep frying
  • salt to taste
  • Ingredients for Batter:
  • 250 gms - gram flour
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • ¼ tsp - Turmeric powder
  • sufficient water
  • salt to taste
  • How to Make Wada Pav:

    1. Boil the potatoes.
    2. Peel the potatoes and mash.
    3. Add finely chopped onions, green chillies, coriander leaves, coarsely ground ginger and garlic, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, lemon juice and salt to taste. Mix well.
    4. Divide the mixture into equal portions.
    5. Smoothen each portion into a round shape and then lightly flatten it a little.
    6. In a bowl mix gram flour, oil, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt to taste.
    7. Add sufficient water to make a little thick batter.
    8. Keep this aside for 15 minutes.
    9. Keep oil to heat for deep frying the wadas.
    10. When oil reaches a smoking point, dip the wadas into the gram flour batter and slip them into the oil.
    11. Fry 2-3 wadas at a time.
    12. Fry till golden in colour on a medium flame.
    13. Cut each pav into halves.
    14. Apply some green chutney on one of the pav.
    15. Keep the wada and press another pav on it.
    16. Serve hot.
