  • 1 cup- Cracked wheat
  • 1 cup- rolled oats
  • 1 cup- shredded Cabbage
  • 1 cup- Green peas
  • 4-5 Cloves
  • 1 tsp- Cumin seeds
  • About 3 cups- water
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1 tspp- Turmeric powder
  • salt to taste
  • green coriander for garnishing
  • How to Make Whole Grain Upma:

    1. Dip cracked wheat in water for about half an hour (drain off extra water after half an hour). Heat the pan and put oil, cloves and cumin seeds. Heat till they crackle.
    2. Put cabbage and peas and cook for about five minutes.
    3. Add 3 cups of water, turmeric powder, rolled oats and cracked wheat.
    4. Cook on slow flame for about 15 minutes with lid on the pan or till the water is dried.
    5. Garnish with green coriander.
