  • Bengal gram dal - 1/2kg
  • Coconut, small - 1
  • Cumin seeds- 25g
  • Green chillies - 30g
  • Ginger, small piece - 1
  • A few coriander and curry leaves
  • Asafoetida - 2 pinches
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Ambode

  • Soak the bengal gram dal for about 1.5 hours.
  • Grind all the ingredients to a coarse paste.
  • Flatten like vada and deep fry in oil.
  • Serve hot.
