Ingredients

  • 1 - raw papaya (medium size)
  • 1/3 cup - masoor dal
  • Cauliflower leaves and stems, bottle gourd peels (optional) - 1/2 cup
  • 1/3 tsp - baking soda
  • 5-6 pods - garlic
  • 3-4 - green chillies
  • mustard oil as needed
  • salt to taste

How to Make Amita Khar

  • Heat little oil in a pressure cooker.
  • Add crushed garlic pods and green chillies.
  • Cut and add papaya, masoor dal, soda, salt, soda and other vegetables, and mix well.
  • Add 2-3 cups of water and cook for 2 whistles.
  • Add a tsp of mustard oil.
  • Serve with warm rice.
