  • 1 kg - beaten rice (poha) (roasted on a tawa)
  • 1 gm - coconut tender
  • 400 gms - jaggery
  • 2 tbsp - ghee
  • 6 gms - plantains (yellow ripe)
  • 1 tsp - cardamom powder

How to Make Beaten Rice - Coconut and Jaggery

  • Clean and roast the beaten rice on a skillet.
  • Continue stirring the same on the tawa, till it swells.
  • Scrape the kernel of the tender coconut.
  • Grate and scrape the jaggery and mix with it with the scrapings of the tender coconut.
  • Mix all well with two spoons of ghee.
  • Cut the ripe plantains into small bits and add them to the mixed beaten rice and garnish it with the cardamom powder.
