Ingredients

  • 1 kg - beef
  • 4 tbsp - butter
  • 2 - medium onions
  • 8 - medium green chillies
  • 2 inch - ginger
  • 1 pod - garlic
  • 1 ball - tamarind
  • 1 tsp - pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp - jeera/cumin powder
  • 1 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - garam masala powder
  • 2 cups - water
  • 400 gms - potatoes

How to Make Beef Steak Portuguese Style

  • Make fine slices of beef and keep them aside.
  • In a pan, heat some butter and fry onions, chillies, ginger and chopped garlic, until a brown colour is attained.
  • Then add tamarind juice, pepper, jeera, turmeric and garam masala. Fry for few minutes.
  • Then add to the cooked meat, a little water and salt and cook well on a gentle fire.
  • If desired, pieces of boiled potatoes can be added.
