Ingredients

  • Bread - 10 slices
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 - chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup -cabbage shredded
  • 1/4 cup - carrots grated
  • 1/4 cup - peas
  • 1/4 cup - potatoes
  • 3 - green chillies
  • 1 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp - jeera seeds
  • For garnish:
  • Grated cheese
  • Chopped coriander
  • Tomato slices

How to Make Bread Vegetable Upma

  • Heat oil in a kadai and splutter mustard and jeera seeds.
  • Add onions and fry till pink.
  • Add the vegetables and cook till half done.
  • Add the green chillies and salt.
  • Add the bread pieces and pour 2 cups water.
  • Simmer till water evaporates.
  • Remove and add coriander leaves and grated cheese.
  • Decorate with tomato slices.
  • Serve hot with sweet/spicy chutney.
