Ingredients

  • 6 slices of bread
  • 1 onion
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp - amchur
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp - asafoetida
  • 1 tsp - ground ginger
  • Salt to taste
  • 3/4 cup - chana dal
  • 1 green chilli
  • 1/2 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1/2 cup - coriander leaves (cleaned and chopped)
  • A pinch of soda bicarbonate
  • Oil for frying

How to Make Chana dal toast

  • Soak dal for 3 hours and grind finely with green chilli, turmeric, cumin seeds, chilli powder, amchur, asafoetida, ginger, and salt.
  • Add very finely chopped onion, coriander leaves, and soda bicarb.
  • Mix well and put a thin layer of the mixture over each slice of bread.
  • Fry till golden brown and puffy.
  • Serve with ketchup or any chutney.
