A heavenly, lavish feast that impresses you with its drooling taste - Chocolate Tortilla Torte. Apart from your tacos and burritos, these savoury flour tortillas can also be used for a gorgeous dessert. This recipe involves zero cooking process, just assembling of the ingredients and chilling them.  

Tortillas and chocolate mixture stacked alternatively and topped with a yummy mixture - this dessert is surely a different experience altogether! Chocolate chips, sour cream and powdered sugar make the chocolate mixture. Soft whipping cream and curls of milk chocolate are used as toppings. Refrigerate for long hours and enjoy it right away.

Ingredients

  • 1 packet semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 8 flour tortillas
  • ½ pint whipping cream
  • 1 to 2 cups milk chocolate or chocolate sprinkles
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 3 tbsp. powdered sugar

How to Make Chocolate Tortilla Torte

  • Pour chocolate chips into top of double boiler. Add sour cream and powdered sugar, continue to heat over simmering water until chocolate is melted.
  • Place pan of sauce in cold water to cool, stir occasionally. Set of the flour tortillas on a serving plate.
  • Spread with chocolate mixture. Continue alternating tortillas and chocolate mixture.
  • Make as even and level as possible ending with a tortilla. Prepare whipping cream with 2 tbsp. sugar and 1 tsp. vanilla.Spread evenly over top and sides of tortillas.
  • Shave milk chocolate into curls, using a vegetable peeler. Pile curls onto top of tortillas or use chocolate sprinkles for a similar effect.
  • Chill, covered with a large inverted bowl at least 8 hours or as long as overnight. To serve, cut in slim wedges with a sharp knife. Serves 8 to 12.
