  • Basmati rice - 2 cup
  • Water - 2 cup
  • Coconut milk - 1 cup (coconut milk powder can be mixed with 1 cup of water)
  • Onions - 2, sliced
  • Green Chillies - 4, cut into long strips
  • Carrot - 1 (cut into small pieces) - optional
  • Cloves, cinnamon sticks - 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Cocoa-Milk Rice

  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add cloves and cinnamon sticks.
  • Add onions and green chillies.
  • When done, add the carrot and fry for a while.
  • Now, add rice and fry for a few mins
  • Add 2 cups of water and 1 cup of coconut milk and add salt to taste.
  • Pressure cook for one whistle and wait for the steam to subside
  • Serve hot with boiled egg and raita
