Ingredients

  • 4 cup - milk or 1 pack - coconut milk diluted to get 4 cup of milk
  • 2 cup - Basmati rice or any other raw rice
  • 3 - green chillies, slit lengthwise
  • 2 tsp - ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp - turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 tbsp - oil, or ghee or butter
  • 2 - onions, sliced finely
  • 3 - cardamoms
  • 2 - cloves
  • 1 stick - cinnamon
  • 1 - bay leaf
  • 1 tsp - all spice powder / garam masala powder

How to Make Coconut Pilaf - Palau

  • Heat oil or ghee in a vessel or rice cooker.
  • Add the cardamoms, cloves, cinnamon, bay leaf, onions, ginger garlic paste, green chillies and spice powder and saute for a few mins
  • Now add the turmeric powder, salt, washed rice and 4 cups of coconut milk and cook on low heat till the rice is done.
  • Serve with ball curry or chicken curry.
