Ingredients

  • 1/4 kg- basmati rice
  • 1/2 - coconut
  • 4 - dry red chillies
  • 1 tbsp - Bengal gram dal
  • 1 tbsp - black gram dal
  • 1 tbsp - mustard
  • 3-4 - green chillies
  • 2 Sprigs - curry leaves
  • Coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/2 tbsp - turmeric

How to Make Coconut Rice for kids

  • Boil the rice.
  • Grate the coconut and keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan
  • Add the dry red chillies, mustard, black gram dal, Bengal gram dal, curry leaves and turmeric.
  • When the mustard crackles, add the coconut and fry it until it turns brown
  • After the coconut turns light brown, add the boiled rice and fry it for two to 3 minutes.
  • Lastly, add the coriander leaves with the rice and serve hot
