Ingredients

  • 1 cup - cooked rice
  • 2 tsp - cumin seeds
  • 2 tbsp - cashew nuts
  • 6 - whole pepper corns
  • 2 - bay leaves
  • 3 - cloves
  • 2 small sticks - cinnamon
  • 1 - medium onion (sliced)
  • 2 tbsp - ghee
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Cumin Flavoured Rice-Jeera Rice

  • Heat ghee in a pan and add cashew nuts.
  • Fry till light brown then remove from the ghee.
  • In the same ghee, add onions, bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon sticks, cumin seeds and pepper corns, and fry till the onions turn light brown.
  • Add the cooked rice and salt and mix well.
  • Cover and simmer on low heat for 2 more minutes then turn off the heat.
  • Garnish with the fried cashew nuts.
