  • 10 slices bread
  • 5 tbsp - green chutney
  • For the Batter:
  • 1.5 cups - gram flour
  • 2 tsp - red chili powder
  • a large pinch cooking soda
  • 2 tbsp - coriander leaves (finely chopped)
  • sufficient water to make a batter
  • oil for deep frying
  • salt to taste

How to Make Dabal Ja Bhajiya (Bread Fried in Gram Flour Batter)

  • Make a batter by mixing the gram flour with the salt, red chili powder, soda, coriander leaves and a sufficient amount of water.
  • Apply green chutney between two slices of bread and cut them diagonally.
  • Dip each piece in the prepared batter and deep fry till golden.
  • Serve with tomato sauce or Khatti Mithi (sweet and sour pickle).
