  • 1/2 cup - walnuts, crushed
  • 1/2 cup - cashews, crushed
  • 1.5 cups - biscuits (Marie or glucose), crushed
  • 1/2 cup - sugar
  • 1/2 cup - butter
  • 2 tbsp - cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp - vanilla essence
  • For decoration: jelly beans
  • ice cream sticks
  • oval cutter
  • bunny shape cutter
  • Colored frosting

How to Make Easter Cut-Outs

  • Place sugar, cocoa and butter in a non-stick pan.
  • Cook while stirring, till well dissolved.
  • Take off heat, mix in all other ingredients.
  • Allow to cool till it can be handled.
  • Empty into a large greased plate, lightly pat even.
  • Using the shaped cutters, cut out the shapes
  • Place cut-outs on sheets of waxed paper
  • Insert an ice cream stick 2 inches into the bottom of each cut-out
  • Decorate the pop-ups with jelly beans, chocolate chips, coloured frosting as desired
  • Cool well till firmed
  • Store in air-tight container. It can be placed in Easter Basket.
