Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup - Toor dal
  • 1/4 cup - Yellow moong dal
  • 3 tbsp - Channa dal
  • 1/4 cup - Flax seeds
  • 3 Dry red chillies
  • 1 tsp - Peppercorns
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 3 Garlic cloves
  • Salt

How to Make Flax seed Paruppu Podi

  • Dry roast evenly the dals together until a nice aroma comes out, remove and set aside.
  • Dry roast the flax seeds, dry red chillies, peppercorns, cumin seeds and keep aside until it cools completely.
  • Grind everything together with salt to form a coarse powder. Add the remaining gingili oil and water (if needed), grind everything a bit coarse paste.
  • Add the garlic cloves and grind it well.
  • Conserve in an air tight box.
  • Serve with rice topped sesame oil and potato roast.
