Ingredients

  • 1 cup - channa dal
  • A pinch of sodabicarb
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp - cumin powder
  • 2-3 pinches - garam masala powder
  • oil to deep fry

How to Make Fried Channa Dal

  • Wash dal and soak it overnight in plenty of water with soda.
  • Drain and spread on a thick clean towel to absorb excess water.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan. Add some dal and fry till whitish and almost crisp.
  • Drain and put on kitchen paper to soak excess oil.
  • Repeat for remaining dal.
  • Take them in a large plate.
  • Add all other ingredients and mix till well coated.
  • Cool completely before storing in an airtight jar.
