Ingredients

  • 4 - idli
  • 1 cup - finely sliced onion
  • 1 cup - finely sliced tomato
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - mustard
  • a pinch - turmeric
  • a pinch - asafoetida
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to fry

How to Make Fried Idlis in Gravy

  • Cut the idlis into small cubes and deep fry in oil.
  • Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a kadai. Add mustard and when it splutters, add turmeric powder, asafoetida.
  • Saute the onions.
  • Add the tomatoes.
  • Add chilli powder and salt and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add the fried idlis and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Serve hot.
