  • 10 flakes - garlic
  • 1 cup - raw rice
  • A small quantity - ginger
  • 1 tbsp - black pepper
  • 1 tbsp - cumin seeds
  • 5 - pearl onions
  • 4 - red chillies
  • A small quantity - mustard
  • A small quantity - curry leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp - ghee

How to Make Garlic Rice

  • Keep rice in pressure cooker, adding 2 cups of water for 1 cup of rice. Add a drop of oil or a pinch of salt.
  • Fry black pepper and cumin seeds and grind them in a mixie.
  • Cut ginger and garlic into small pieces.
  • Heat ghee in a pan/kadai, splutter mustard seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida, ginger, garlic, pearl onions, red chillies and salt and fry them.
