Ingredients

  • 1 cup - sugar
  • 1 cup - suji
  • 1 cup - butter
  • 1 cup - maida
  • 1 cup - desiccated coconut
  • 4 - eggs
  • 1/2 tsp - salt
  • 1/2 tsp - baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp - vanilla essence
  • 1/2 tsp - cardamom powder
  • 1/2 tsp - cinnamon powder

How to Make Goan Batk or Semolina Cake

  • Grind all the ingredients to a smooth and thick batter.
  • Add a little milk if required and let it stand for 15 mins.
  • Pour the batter into an 9 inch x 9 inch x 3 inch greased and floured cake tin.
  • Tap the tin gently a few times on a flat surface to remove air bubbles.
  • Bake in a moderate oven, (350 F) till done.
  • Cool and cut into diamond shape pieces.
