Ingredients

  • 1 cup - tur dal
  • 1/2 kg - meat
  • 1 tsp - garam masala (cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, fennel)
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - garam masala powder
  • 1 tbsp - tamarind pulp
  • Curry leaves
  • 1 tsp - ginger garlic paste
  • 5 green chillies
  • 1 bunch - mint leaves
  • 1 bunch - coriander leaves
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 2 tomatoes
  • Salt
  • 3 tbsp - oil

How to Make Hyderabadi Dal Gosht Ka Salan

  • Firstly boil dal in water with whole garam masala and curry leaves.
  • Add green chillies, tomatoes and salt.
  • Once cooked, mash and mix in tamarind pulp with some water and keep aside.
  • For mutton curry:
  • Heat oil in a cooker, saute onions and mint leaves till they are fried properly.
  • Add mutton, ginger and garlic paste, turmeric and red chilli powder according to taste, garam masala powder and mix well
  • Add a glass of water and cook till meat is tender.
  • Open cooker, add the mashed dal and cook uncovered for 5 min.
  • Add coriander leaves and serve hot with plain rice.
