  • 1 cup - maida
  • 1 cup - water
  • 1/2 cup - sugar
  • 2 tbsp - yogurt
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1/2 tsp - yeast
  • A few strands of saffron
  • Oil

How to Make Jalebi

  • Mix curd, maida, saffron and yeast with a little oil to make a smooth, runny batter.
  • Allow it to stand for several hours till it rises.
  • Boil sugar and water to make a thick syrup.
  • Keep it in warm water.
  • Fill the batter into a bottle which can be squeezed.
  • Squeeze into jalebis in hot oil.
  • Drain quickly.
  • Dip in syrup for 2 minutes.
  • Drain and cool.
