Kaju khoya burfi is a favourite dessert of many people in India. This dessert is in huge demand during the festive season. While we all prefer to buy it from outside, this time you can learn how to make it at home and impress your family with this festive recipe.

As the name says, the recipe is a barfi made from kaju. So The major ingredients of the recipe are khoya and kaju or cashew. Khoya and cashew powder is slow cooked until it mixes with each other well and finally spread evenly on a greased plate. This is further cut in shape of burfi and served.

  • 500 g - khoya
  • 150 g - cashewnuts
  • 2 tbsp - milk
  • 400 g - sugar
  • 1/2 tsp - cardamom powder
  • Silver foil
  • A few halved cashews for garnishing

How to Make Kaju Khoya Burfi

  • Dry grind the cashew.
  • Grate the khoya.
  • Mix khoya, milk and sugar.
  • Heat in a heavy pan, stirring continuously.
  • Once the sugar dissolves, add the cashew (powdered) and elaichi.
  • Cooking, constantly stir, till soft lump is formed and does not stick to sides.
  • Roll on a flat surface to desired thickness and apply silver foil.
  • Garnish with halved cashews.
